Today, I am going to talk about one of the most amazing 24 hours that I have ever experienced. And, this was experienced in none other than Red Centre. The Outback. The real Australia.

We first landed in Uluru/ Ayers Rock (the airport was the smallest airport I have ever been to and the town was only the resort). We headed to Kata Tjuta and it was a great way to start my outback adventure. It was many rocks squashed together so it looked like many heads. We did the Walpo Gorge Walk which was fun because you got to climb up rocks and was a lot better than just a flat path. The views gorgeous and I never pictured the outback to be so stunning. I honestly felt like I was on Mars. There were rocky, reddish, big boulders that didn't seem like they belonged on Earth.

The next day, we did the Uluru Base walk. This walk was great exercise and had good views of Uluru too. I can't believe Uluru looks different from every single angle. The whole Uluru base walk was 6 miles and we walked all of it. It was tiring but well worth it.

We were actually not going to go to the Red Centre but I convinced my parents that we should go here instead of Tasmania. Now, they are glad because the weather in the outback is much better than Tasmania.

We also saw a lot of sunrises and sunsets in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta national park. It is amazing how the colors spread across the rock.

Those rocks are crazy cool! And the dirt is red, with that beautiful color I’m sure the sunsets are amazing!!

Dear Sir,

You did an awesome job with the photos. Just stunning. Totally agree with Nandita! Your post is very powerful...one of the best 24h you have had. That's saying a lot. It really is a special, special place. I am sure you enjoyed the geology there and the explanation of why Uluru and Kata Tjuta formed. There are two different theories and comes down to science vs a spiritual reason for the Aboriginals. Interesting compared the the sediments that caused Kings Canyon.

Anyway, terrific...and I told you so about Kings Canyon :)
