To all you people eagerly waiting for another post to come, we are extremely sorry that it took so long as it was difficult to connect to the internet in many of the places we were staying in.

Anyway, after a short flight from Mumbai, we arrived in the Rajastani city of Jaipur sometimes referred to as the "pink city" because of all of the pink buildings in the city center. Our first impression was relief; after the bustling, hectic, and quite foggy metropolis of Mumbai, we found oasis in the fresh air of peaceful Jaipur. Surrounded by desserts and mountains, Jaipur's magnificent palaces and forts make it an extremely beautiful city to look at and reside in.

There was wonderful hospitality at our hotel, Jai Mahal palace which was once a royal palace where the royalty of the city used to reside. The atmosphere and the hotel itself was very serene and beautiful as well. When we arrived, the manager tried to give us a luxurious suite instead of the two cramped rooms that we had originally booked and we ultimately gave in and decided to live like royalty for a few days.

The next day, we went to see all of the sights of Jaipur, Our first stop was Amber fort. This old and beautiful fort built by the early rajputs of Jaipur left us in Awe. We could have ridden an elephant to the top but opted to take the jeep instead.

This massive fort has many fascinating jewels that the nobles must have enjoyed such as the second largest Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors) in the world as you can see in the bottom left picture.

We also took fascinating royal pictures in the city palace of Jaipur which the current 22 year old king must enjoy. I think this room is still used for some holiday.

sorry the pictures are a bit blurry

We also saw Hawa Mahal: the iconic sight of Jaipur. The city center was very traficky but the big pink buildings were pretty...

we also saw the jal mahal which is the floating palace where we got some frozen icecream.

Jal mahal is on bottom and hawa mahal is on top left.

All in all we enjoyed our stay in Jaipur but now we are in New Delhi enjoying the sights and the food. More posts are soon to come as we have good internet connection in the hotel!
