On our last few days in Australia, we visited the Great Barrier Reef- a one hour boat ride from Port Douglas to Lower Isle. Here we are on the boat ride.

We saw great corals, colorful fish and even swam through a school of fish. Unfortunately, we missed the green turtles that were walking around. No underwater pictures, but take a look at the view from the boat.

It was an amazing experience and we learned that due to good temperatures over the past 1 to 2 years, the corals in that area have been really healthy!
We then spent a day in Port Douglas and went to 4 mile beach.

We couldn't go in the water because there are crocodiles and jellyfish so instead- we went for runs on the beach.

We visited the animal park where simi got to feed Kangaroos...

hold an koala (named Kodi)...

and hold a frogmouth owl.

And then our final night in Australia- we had dinner at an amazing pizza place on the water in Cairns right before our flight.

It was the best Pizza on our trip so far- and probably the last! How fitting that we ended our trip to Australia with Owls and Pizza!
Stay tuned for our Australia Top Ten before we start blogging about Indonesia.
Farewell Australia!!
Simi,
You look great holding those beautiful animals. We will show the pictures to Dhilan.
Nanu
How cute are those animals and so lucky you got to hold them. I agree with Rupa Auntie you have to frame those. What an adventure in Australia.
Perfect end to a perfect month in Oz! The owl and koala pics will end up framed on your wall one day! So cute! Your mom said both you and K did a great with the snorkeling! So peaceful with the fishes and coral......
Remember to run fast if any monkey comes after you. They are not as nice as Kodi....;)
